No Indian festival is complete without the traditional Indian celebrations and festivities. A colorful and joyful spectrum of family get-togethers, songs, sweets and gifts make up the essence of festivals of India.

Rakhi Day or the festival of Rakhi is one such festival that focuses on togetherness and the chaste love shared between a brother and a sister. Rakhi is a festival that mainly belongs to the North and Western regions of India but is yet celebrated with equal fervor of happiness all over India. The regional celebrations of Rakhi Day are different in different parts of the country and the importance of this day doesn't diminish. 

As per the Rakhi day traditions, the sister prepares the rakhi thali with the diya, roli, chawal and the rakhi threads. She worships the different deities and then ties the Rakhi thread on the right wrist of the brother and wishes for his well-being. The brother in turn expresses his love and promises to protect and honor his sister at all circumstances.
